If you don’t leave in a State enjoying sunshine all year round, don’t despair! You’ll find it actually easy to enjoy your BBQ grill most of the year. Actually, hosting a party on a cold day and serving delicious grilled food will make everyone smile and feel like summer’s already here! So pile on some sweaters.. and make sure you leave your BBQ closed as much as possible to keep it hot.

To start, here are a few basic grilling tips:

  • Warm it up: make sure you’re giving your BBQ enough time to reach a high temperature. Failing to do won’t let you sear the meat, one of the trademark of BBQ grilling. Start your grill on high, and leave it at least 15-20 minutes to heat up before using it

  • Make sure you adapt the heat to the kind of food you’re grilling. Lower the heat for thinner cuts of meat, fish and veggies, or you’ll end up with pieces of charcoal. Make sure you pay close attention to your cooking the first times you’ll be grilling, until you get the grip. Soon it’ll be second nature to you

  • Equip yourself: although you don’t need many fancy tools, make sure you have at least the few basics that will allow you to grill your food without burning yourself. It’s also a good ideas to have on hand a few sauces and spices to give different flavors to some basic grilled food
